Join us at the library as we celebrate El Día del Niño, a special day dedicated to children and families! This event brings together the Aberdeen community to honor the Hispanic tradition of Children’s Day in a fun and welcoming space. There will be stories, games for all ages, snacks, and more. You are invited to join us for "JAM!" Jesus And Me activities for the whole family!Dinner starts the evening at 5:30 PM, and at 6:00 PM, the kids start their KidRock activities. Snuggle Up with StoriesJoin us for a program just for you and baby. Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers and babies at the library. We will share songs, books, rhymes and more, all planned with babies in mind. Snuggle Up with Stories is designed to help babies learn and develop listening, language and motor skills while having fun. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap for this 20-minute program. Come to the Sturgis Public Library for Level UP! Gaming Club on Thursday, May 1st, from 4-6pm. Ages 8+ are welcome to hang out and play Nintendo, board games, snap circuits, and more with friends. Held every first Thursday each month.

Discovery Saturday: AANHPI Heritage Month
Learn the ukulele with Vermillion music educator Gretchen Burbach at two fun and informative ukulele discovery sessions at 11:30 and 1:30. Learn a chord, a couple strumming patterns—and maybe even a song—at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM that day. We will have several ukuleles on hand for you to play, or bring your own!
Then, stay for a spotlight talks on the NMM's Javanese gamelan at 2:15 and 3:15, as well as a chance to play in this amazing ensemble with educator, Anna Van Kley, at 2:30. All activities are included with museum admission.
Additionally, families are invited to join the NMM’s Music Storytime at 10:30 a.m., where Van Kley will read a story and lead children to explore the museum. Music Storytime is free and sponsored by the M.A. Everist Foundation. Discovery Saturdays at the NMM occur on the first Saturday of each month, offering a variety of activities and educational tours throughout the museum.

Story TimeStory Time introduces your child to the incredible world of language and books through stories, songs, and activities. This program is designed to help prepare your child for successful school experiences using early literacy components and is a great opportunity for your child to develop social skills and make friends. Topics and themes change each program. Story time generally lasts 30 minutes and no registration required.
