Join us for a unique hands-on activity exploring the historic Mount Moriah Cemetery. Participants will learn the techniques and etiquette of headstone rubbing while discovering stories from Deadwood’s past. Meet at the Days of '76 Museum; the program will run from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Free for students in grades K–6, but space is limited. From the Crazy Horse Memorial to Sioux Falls, the Lakota Music Project is building bridges on a statewide tour this October. The tour programs explore shared human experiences of celebration, humor, love and youth demonstrated through music of Lakota, Dakota, and western classical traditions.

Families will see a short presentation about ghosts and ghost stories and then hear a special presentation on Belle Fourche’s famous “Ghost of Redwater Hill.”
There will also be several crafts, a drawing for the book “Spooky Ghost Stories for Kids,” and a free take-home packet about ghosts. Families will be able to visit the decorated Haunted Spaulding Cabin, too. Costumes may be worn, and refreshments will be served.

You get to make your own Labubu monster with a unique personality. What kind of vibe are you going for? Cute & Cuddly, Spooky & Mischievous or Wild & Adventurous. What color will yours be? Black, green, pink, or even rainbow! Think of what kind of accessories or extra features it should have, horns, wings, or maybe a cape!

Introduce your child to the magical world of books and language through engaging stories, lively songs, and fun activities
Story Time is thoughtfully designed to support early literacy development and help prepare your child for future school success. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for young children to build social skills and make new friends.
Each session features a new theme or topic, keeping the experience fresh and exciting. Programs typically last about 30 minutes. No registration is required—just drop in! Caregivers are expected to attend with their children.

Join us for a special program just for you and your baby! Spend quality time together and connect with other parents, caregivers, and little ones at the library. Snuggle Up with Stories features songs, books, rhymes, and more—all thoughtfully planned with babies in mind. This 20-minute program supports your baby’s early development by building listening, language, and motor skills in a fun, nurturing environment. Please come prepared to sit on the floor with your baby in your lap. Activities are one-on-one to encourage bonding and interaction. Have an older child with you? No problem—we’ll have coloring sheets or other quiet activities available to help keep them engaged.

With Zootopia 2 hitting theaters this November, it's the perfect time for a party! We’ll enjoy snacks, games, and a screening of the original Zootopia movie. With help from Gina Sommers and her students from Appoise Esthetic School of Aberdeen, you will learn tips and tricks to making the costume of your dreams.
