A World War II story collection that follows the theme of “What was it like for you?” These WWII stories were shared with us, and we are honored to share them with you.

Steamboat North Alabama
During this activity, your students will learn about the sinking of the Steamboat North Alabama on the Missouri River in 1870. They will also create a tape resist art piece using positive and negative space.

The government is divided into branches, each with separate, independent powers and responsibilities. They serve as checks and balances to each other.

Waniyetu Wowapi (winter count)
A winter count is a pictographic record of historical/memorable events for a tiospaye (community). Many Plains Indians used the winter count to preserve history. Significant events are recorded for future generations.
Aberdeen, SD Pheasant Sandwiches recipes. Three cups of cooked pheasant chopped fine; two hard-cooked eggs chopped fine; two carrots grated; one half medium onion finely chopped; one-half cup finely chopped celery; and two teaspoons of pickle relish. A drawing of a pheasant is to the right.

Every year, the folks at Aberdeen's Convention and Visitor's Bureau gather to assemble hundreds of pheasant salad sandwiches, similar to those from World War II.
