Governor Kristi Noem’s website to defend Title IX is receiving a makeover.

A prominent photo featuring athletes from a high school girls’ sports team in Ohio has been removed. That comes after a request by a democratic state lawmaker.

Casey Weinstein represents Ohio’s 37th district, which includes Hudson, where the student athletes are from.

“It’s shocking that the governor needs to go shopping out of state for her purported South Dakota based issue,” Weinstein says. “She picked a fight with the district, with the wrong town, with the wrong rep. I will continue to advocate for the privacy and consent rights of my constituents and for trans rights for all.”

Weinstein’s district-mate in the Ohio Senate is a republican who is introducing legislation similar to a bill that reached Governor Kristi Noem’s desk.

Noem issued a partial veto of the bill, which prohibits transgender girls from participating in girls’ sports. The legislation is modeled after Idaho’s ban and is being considered across the country.

After conservative backlash against her veto, Noem launched a Title IX-based initiative to prevent transgender girls from participating in girls’ sports.
